  • Steam Linux External Beta Begins Next Week

    0 Not allowed! Not allowed!
If you're a Linux user, then chances are you've been following Valve's development of Steam for the OS very closely. The studio has some fantastic news for you today as they have just announced that an external beta will begin next week, with a private external beta for another 1,000 users beginning in October.

The private external beta will include:
    • Steam
    • One Valve game
    • Support for Ubuntu 12.04 and above

    It will not yet include:
    • Big Picture mode
    • Additional Valve games

In order to be considered for the beta, Linux users will simply need to sign up on a page that has yet to go public. More information about signing up will be revealed in a future Valve Linux blog post.
