  • Notch Tells Microsoft to Stick It with Windows 8 Certification for Minecraft

Earlier today, Markus "notch" Persson explained how he essentially told Microsoft to shove it when it came to them wanting to "certify" Minecraft for inclusion on Windows 8.

Got an email from microsoft, wanting to help "certify" minecraft for win 8. I told them to stop trying to ruin the pc as an open platform.

So brave. Certification, in this sense, basically just means that his game probably would not be "trusted" in the eyes of the Windows 8 installer or shop. Something tells me that he'll do just fine without having Minecraft certified on the OS.

It's presumed that other developers and publishers have said similar things to Microsoft, yet did not reveal their statements publicly as notch has.
