Ahem...
A "Crytek authorized" TimeSplitters game is currently in development for the PC. TimeSplitters Rewind is being worked on by fans of the game, including members of the original TimeSplitters staff from Free Radical Design. The team, led by Michael Hubicka, hopes to include the near 300+ characters from the original game, new game modes on top of the original game modes, dedicated server tools after the demo but before the initial full release, LAN support is included, and monkeys... lots of monkeys.
You already said the game will focus on multiplayer. Will it include all modes from the series and can we expect some extra surprises? Every body is asking about Virus mode! Will there be any kind of story mode?
The initial release of TimeSplitters Rewind will be multiplayer only. Though we have been talking about slowly working on remaking all three of the original games one at a time. That is only if Crytek lets us. But hopefully you will see TimeSplitters Rewind go from being multiplayer only to including all the storylines (singleplayer and co-op) of the original games. But yes, Virus will come back!

The game will have multiplayer modes and challenges taken from the first three titles in the franchise, all lovingly re-done in glorious HD. Multiplayer will allow for up to 16 players and include bots. There will be no splitscreen, simply because CryEngine 3 does not support it.
Oh, did I fail to mention that this is being done on CryEngine 3? Because it is. A demo is slated to arrive this December, barring any huge setbacks.
