  • First Developer Diary for The Dark Pictures - Man of Medan

The first developer diary video for The Dark Pictures - Man of Medan was released today from Supermassive Games. You may already be familiar with Supermassive Games as they previously released the fantastic Until Dawn a few years back. However, it sure can't hurt to get their insight on their upcoming horror anthology.

The Dark Pictures - Man of Medan is looking at a 2019 release for the PS4, XB1, and PC via Steam.
The first Dev Diary showcases the creation of the menacing abandoned vessel that serves as the setting of Man of Medan. The developers describe how they formed the claustrophobic and foreboding atmosphere of the ship by carefully crafting the audio, lighting and architecture of the game, researching real-world military vessels, even capturing impulses and ambient sounds from these ships. Thoughtful and moody lighting, engrossing audio and compelling characters, along with Man of Medan’s suspenseful narrative form a completely engrossing and deeply unsettling gameplay experience.

Developed by Supermassive Games, the critically-acclaimed studio behind the cult-classic thriller Until Dawn, The Dark Pictures - Man of Medan is a series of standalone cinematic horror games linked by one common element: that every playable character can live and every playable character can die throughout the story, yielding numerous possible endings and near-limitless replayability. The game will be anchored by a talented cast of actors, including stars Shawn Ashmore (X-Men, Quantum Break) and Pip Torrens (The Crown, Star Wars: The Force Awakens), whose in-game likenesses are rendered in vivid detail.

Valve just rolled out one of the biggest updates for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. It may not be the largest in terms of file size, but in terms of scope? Yeah, it's pretty big for a game like Counter-Strike. "What could it possibly be," you wonder?

      It's battle royale.

Of course it's battle royale. This mode has been rumored for a while and now it's finally here. • Bethesda Issues Meager Compensation in Response to Nylon Bag Controversy
      Shawn Zipay
Yesterday, we brought you the story about how Bethesda pulled a bait-and-switch on consumers that purchased the $200 Power Armor Edition of Fallout 76. Today, we have a bit of an update on the story to share with you. Bethesda noticed that there were suddenly a lot of eyes on them after multiple media outlets picked up the story, and in response they decided to try to make things right. Bethesda, by way of the official Fallout Twitter account, announced a bit of compensation late last night. While you may be stuck with a cheap nylon bag instead of the canvas bag you were promised, you at least get... Drumroll plea...

    • Fallout 76's $200 Edition Promised Canvas Bag is a Real Stinker
      Shawn Zipay
The $200 Power Armor Edition of Fallout 76 promised to include a "Canvas West Tek Duffel Bag" in addition to some other neat gear like a wearable Power Armor helmet, map, and more. The problem is that consumers that spent the $200 for this Power Armor Edition ended up getting little more than a trash bag instead of the fancy canvas one they were promised.

What fans actually received for their monetary show of support was a cheap nylon bag. This is, obviously, not the one that was advertised....
