Thought this was an expansion. $60 for a game with 4 maps sounds like a rip off to me.

I doubt it's $60. That would probably just be Amazon trying to be safe. If they set it as a low price, but they find out the price should be higher, they'd be losing money. But as long as the price is higher than what it should be, then they can drop the price for all orders at will. It's just them being safe.

But it also has new vehicles, weapons, awards, and unlocks.

I am sure it is. If that was the MSRP, all the other game sites would have it up as well. But since only Amazon does, it is highly likely that it is just their 'starting price'.

The game was just announced, DICE/EA hasn't said a price yet. The only reason Amazon lists the game already is so that they can take preorders. This is pretty standard, this won't be the final price and I'm surprised you guys think it is. :p

Even though they haven't announced a price, the expansion should be free so it doesn't split the community. Right now, retailers don't know what the price is going to be. They toss up arbitrary prices early to get people to pre-order and then adjust when the actual prices are known. Just relax a while, there's still time for the official price to be revealed.

If they used their prior fail methods and split the community this is an automatic no buy for me. History says the expansions are not worth the expense and are thin on content. If everyone cant play together its worthless.

I think the content of past expansions were worth the price, but the servers just don't get populated enough. Some of my most fun rounds were with SF and NS.

This is no BF2 nor 2142. While I owned the SF expansion it was the jewel of all expansions they have released to date. SF actually added a lot more weapons and gadgets people couldnt live without. This is not the case with and of the other offerings. Road to Rome, Armored Fury, Northern Strike, etc. were a bust, weak content, weak population, little to no lasting power. A few people may have had some fun but they were a failure to the games they were to add to. Now theres a question of an expensive expansion to BC2, it doesnt stand a snowballs chance in hell. I know when to buy and this is a 100% pass and a quick attempt at cashing in while we are waiting for more robust pc offerings. Dont fall for the retread/reskin money scam. Lets see 4 maps x 4 modes, im sure they will claim 16 maps :D
