when your on the battlefield, your eyes are ears are key for survival, BUT! aside from the the radio spam i hear all the time from other players, the worst is when a commander continually spots the enemy "enemy spotted".
its loud and takes all enjoyment i have when playing. i sometimes even have to quit leading a full squad to command the next round so i wont have to hear that stressing noise over and over again.
these other forums also talk about the problem to no solution.

Please DICE... Make a volume manager for Radiochatter!

the only way to fix this problem is to hack in the Common_client.zip compressed file and either replace the problematic audio files or lower its volume with a program, keeping the same file size and audio bits.
my problem is that this cant be done if your going to play online in a punkbuster server as it checks the crc or checksum of the file. this is all bf2 is good for when i play, online and void of cheaters.
so is there a solution to be had?
after extensive searching i only came upon the following instructions, but im not sure if i want to be the first to try it. any volunteers?
I just figured that out (As I don't play on PB servers that often), but I did find a work around.
Go to your CProgram Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2 folder.
Open ClientArchives.con in Notepad
Now, you should see this...
fileManager.mountArchive Objects_client.zip Objects
fileManager.mountArchive Common_client.zip Common
fileManager.mountArchive Menu_client.zip Menu
fileManager.mountArchive Fonts_client.zip Fonts
fileManager.mountArchive Shaders_client.zip Shaders
I found that if you:
1) Unzip those zip files into folders with the names they are followed by (objects_client.zip is put into CProgram Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Objects you may have to make the folders..)
2) Rem out the lines in the .con file after you unzip those files
3) Do the same thing with the ServerArchives.con file
4) Rename all the zip files you unzipped (or move them to a new folder)
You should be good to go.
Now just head over to the Common\sounds\music\menu folder and drop your .ogg files in there.
No MD5 mismatch now!
Tested for 4 hours on an Official EA East Server.
