Hey everyone,
I am new to playing games, and I am addicted to the COD series. I just got COD 4 a week ago, played the game in the easy mode and finished it in a matter of hours. Is the game really over??? Or, am I just getting into it? I am going to go back to the start in a more difficult setting, but I am a bit bummed out that I am just going back into the same game with added difficulty. Whats the deal? Is the online play where its at, because I am not set up for that yet.
Merry Christmas!

Yes it probably is over. For most people, the only knock on this game is the short single player campaign. The multiplayer, however, is heavenly!!! Get yourself "set up for that" ASAP.

This game lasts with the MP.

Play through the SP on Veteran difficulty and then come back and tell us how it was. ;) It's a helluva lot more challenging, but also fun and much more intense.
MP is really where the staying power of the game is. Where you'll hit your real "water shed" moment is when you max out at rank 55. If you're a purely achievement/stats driven player, you'll lose interest. You may no know till you get to that point.
Personally, I've found the game 10x more enjoyable post-55 then pre. When you get a server full of people who are all maxed out too, points cease to matter in relation to winning the round.
I love winning a round of HQ or Sabotage when everyone on my team has a negative KDR.

COD has been known for kinda short SP..
But really, COD is known for its MP..
Like CoD2, been out since.. 05? early 06? and its still #3 on top played Xfire list.

Dont sweat. SP is simply appalling. But its the MP where the riches are. MP, simply put, is flawless. You may not like it for its particular setup, but you wont find anything wrong with it.

Why'd you play it on Easy in the first place? Higher difficulties provide a challenge. :)
Play Multiplayer when you get the chance to test your skills online.

I don't really enjoy the higher difficulties, the enemies aren't smarter, they just miss less, do more damage and throw more nades. Not much fun imo.

The single player is pretty short, but the story line is of a pretty enjoyable quality :P.
Then multiplayer kicks ***!!!! Worth every penny, unlike other games, Kane and Lynch for example.

Actually there are only two things that change, how quickly you die, and they pull the trigger faster (instead of staring at you for a few seconds then firing.)
In previous COD's, it was only dying faster that changes.
TBH, SP and MP are both amazing and fun.
Try SP on veteran, though most of it is easy (even on veteran), halfway through Act2 veteran mode is damn hard, except for a few act 3 missions.

I agree, veteran through the 2nd half of act 2 is a nightmare!

Veteran or Private, the game is goddamn short. Too goddamn short for the money they ask.
Amping the difficulty up so that they would spend 30min longer in that same goddamn place, trying to kill those same goddamn scripted enemies is no excuse.
