Community member Dahakk has released the second version of his very popular "extended" COD4 map. Check it out:
Due to request I have updated this map. I moved the sab points s&d points and moved a hq or two to make better use of the maps new areas. I will watch this thread to see if anyone has any more suggestions.

I added this to one of our servers. This map is so much better than the original. Lots of new spots to explore!!!

Great Map. I have played it on several servers now. Got a question... in the picture of the guy aiming at the building(second pic) you can climb on after ducking to go through the wall it looks as though you can get into it the third floor has a chain link fence you would be able to climb down to the second floor or lower. Is there a way to get into this building?

My own critique of the last version
( am hoping this version is allot different )
Opening up the "hidden" areas like the rooftops
and the surrounding areas of the map Without
ADDING things like more unique areas to match
the "Look" of the map isn't improving the map.
For example, the surrounding areas, which
the original intention of most if not all of the COD4 maps
is just ground clutter and backdrop for the original map to
make the original map "look" bigger than it really is.
So just opening those areas up, doesn't do anything for me,
in fact it looks awful.
Things that can ( and probably has been, I haven't looked
at this new version yet ) be done to improve those areas are:
Try to break up the "Surrounding Wall - Look" by opening
"New" areas up by Making them.. Even if it is like copying a
building, but changing the layout somewhat, including the
interior and maybe even re-texturing the walls inside, and
making a new blown-out section would be some ideas.
NOT opening up some areas actually may help the "Feel"
of the map more. ( Areas that are not opened up, but may be
able to be seen would need some attention )
Maybe knocking down a section of the edge of the original map
by either reducing it to rubble, or partially rubble so that
you can get to the "New" areas would break up the
"Hey, I'm just running around in a circle on the outside
of the original map" Feel.
Make some of the "outskirts" of the map, new contention areas,
areas where people are likely to gather and fight.
Just some friendly suggestions from someone who has been playing
since the "Doom" and "Quake 1" days, and have seen tons of maps,
both very good, and some very bad. I've also tried my hand at
Mapping, and although I am in no way a great mapper, I do know what
all good maps have in common.
