Help for DirectX on Vista!

Hi guys!

I just bought CoD4 and i am trying to play it on my new Vista-64 bit computer. When i try to open the game it says "directx has encountered a unrecoverble error" and shuts down...
The reedme says i have to instal DX 9.c to play, but i have tried that without any change :confused:

Anyone knows what i should do?

If you are using X-Fire, you need to log out, and completely EXIT the program. Then boot the game up. You can't change any visual game settings when you have X-Fire running in the background.

I have read that, but im not useing x-fire so that cant be it... Has no one else tried this???

Im using vista 64 and ive no problems at all!

Well, i do i know if i havent? What have u downloaded?

umm update DX for starters, check for any updates from windowsupdate.com

Also make sure you don't have any anti-virus running or firewall.

Yeah as said above check the windows update site, but make sure you have this
