Of all the low-down and dirty things to do...

The Empty Stocking fund needs $50 grand by Christmas to replace the gifts that were stolen out of the warehouse. A local radio station held a 50 hour lock-in to raise $50,000; they raised the required amount in 19 hours under the deadline and managed to raise $96,535, almost twice the needed amount. This, of course, was in addition to the thousands of dollars donated by other local corporations and individuals directly to the fund.

At least now they've got enough time and cash to replace the stolen gifts, and that one particular fundraiser will almost cover them through next year as well.

I miss the good old days were criminals would be deported.
Recently our newspapers had an article about a man who was killed in a traffic accident, and two days later thieves emptied his house for valuables.

It take as special kind of person to scan the accident reports for potential victims.
