  • Bethesda Support System is Leaking Customers' Personal Information

    Mad Vault Boy
There is a saying that goes, "when it rains, it pours." In Bethesda's case, it has been a full on monsoon for the past couple of weeks. You already know about the whole issue with the canvas bag. That's the "been there, done that" issue. This week, it's time for the new hotness! A Reddit user has claimed that they are receiving Bethesda support tickets to his Bethesda account.

This all actually began when Bethesda instructed upset Fallout 76: Power Armor Edition customers to contact their support site in order to receive the canvas bags they were promised. Some customers, after having submitted their own ticket, say that they have received the information for other customers that also submitted tickets via the support system.

On Wednesday, December 5, a Reddit user by the name of Jessiepie made a Reddit thread saying that they are receiving support tickets on their Bethesda account. The person claims that they were able to see personal customer details such as names, addresses, emails, and even partial credit card information.
I am a gleeful vault dweller as yourselves and as of this moment I am receiving every single one of your support tickets on my Bethesda account. Mostly it's your receipts for you power armor set requesting a new bag. These receipts contain all your info. Your email and home address and the card you used to buy this extremely glitched game. I can see the problems you are having with the game, yes I'm having them too. And I know a few of you want a refund that Bethesda has said can't happen. I can update your ticket for you, if you'd like. And close it! How fun is that? Please rest assure I have no desire to stalk you or mess with your Fallout 76 experience. I just wanted to let y'all know that this is happening atm. Anyway, I gave Bethesda a heads up via the Twitter. So we will see. I wouldn't want to be the person having to respond to all of you. Currently there's 8 pages of canvas bag requests, tickets and "fix or refund me" demands.

As mentioned, Jessiepie also sent a tweet to Bethesda alerting them to the issue. You can find that tweet below.

I think we're at the point where we have to go: What even more is there to say? This is a huge issue on multiple fronts. It's also another potential major legal issue for the company, especially if the EU decides to get involved.

I won't even get into the issues that players have experienced following the release of the 1.0.2.0 patch for Fallout 76. I'll just let Mike Williams from USgamer fill you in on that laundry list of newly introduced bugs and stealth nerfs that have made fans upset.

In the new war on crappy revenue splits, Discord announced today that they are going to allow all developers to self-publish their games. Not only that, but they're going to give developers a 90% revenue share for games sold through the Discord Store. That leaves just the remaining 10% for Discord to cover operating costs.

But wait, it gets even better.

Discord says that they may even end up lowering that 10% to a smaller amount by finding ways to optimize their technology and making things more efficient.
Earlier this year though, we noticed
